Hiker #01 that crossed paths with me started his journey in West Virginia and planned on finishing in Maine in 6 weeks. π¬ too many miles to count.
I encountered a guy who introduced himself as Classic (I assume his A.T. name). He started at the very beginning in Amocolola. GA. (did I spell that right?). Classic said he averages approx 15 miles a day hiking. He shared some stories with me about what he has been through while hiking on the A.T. (kicked off trail by park rangers due to Covid and sneaking back on through the woods and encountering bears and other kinds of wildlife while trying to find way back to A.T.). Classic also had a nasty fall down a mountain and separated his shoulder and was able to put in back in place and planned on finishing the 2140 mile journey in approx 40 more days (Classic, you are a phucking Bad-Ass). Also ran into 2 guys who also started at the very beginning and after hiking approx 1600 miles for 4.5 months looked like they were fresh and ready to go back to whatever University they attend.
Great day
So amazing….
