it has taken me approximately 8 weeks to read this 223 page book (20 pages to go). It’s not that i’m a “snail” reader, it’s only because I did not want to finish it. This book was written to be digested slowly and thoughtfully. If you have been to California for more than a 2 week vacation and have traveled up and down the coast as well as inland (i was there somewhere in the vicinity of 267 days), this is the book for you. This book depicts a place that was and is. Dideon, an incredible story teller, will pull you into her California world and shine a beacon on a place that is (or, was, depending on your point of view) amazingly breathtaking. McAvoy
